Born in Cumaru, Pernambuco, 50 years old, married and with two children, he started in Karate in 1980 in the city of Carpina – interior of Pernambuco. In 1982 he started to teach karate class at the Centro Social Urbano in Bezerros-PE. He became a black belt 1st dan in 1988 – Recife / Pernambuco (C.B.K).
As an athlete, he was a Pernambuco champion from 1993 to 2012; in 2010, he was South American Champion and, in 2011, World Champion. At the 2012 Mercosul Cup, in Argentina, he was runner-up in kata and kumite; in 2012, two-time South American champion Pernambuco-Brazil and, in 2013, two-time World Champion Pernambuco-Brazil.
He was consecrated as Vice World Champion as a coach in 1998 at the Ibirapuera Multisport Gymnasium – (São Paulo / SP) C.B.K.I and took over as C.B.K.I Referee from 1998 to 1999 at Ibirapuera Multisport Gymnasium (São Paulo / SP) C.B.K.I
He served as State Referee from 1993 to 2017 – Olinda / Pernambuco (F.P.K.S) and National Chief Referee from 1998 to 2017 – (C.N.K), reaching the rank of WUKO Level A Referee in 2011.
Recognized by AILAM (International Association of Martial Arts and Fighting) – São Paulo – as 10th DAN in 2010 and, in 2011, received the title of Grand Master by the University of Sciences and Letters of Bahia, from Doctor Honoris Causa in Artes Martias by Universidade Livre Miyamoto Musashi de Artes Marcias – Salvador and PHD in Sports Sciences by Faculdade Pernambucana in Physical Education in 2012
In addition, he has a degree in History and Physical Education, a Bachelor of Law and Physical Education, a postgraduate degree in Criminal Law, Criminal Procedure, Labor Law, Labor Procedure, Private Criminal Expert and Police Integrity.
